4 Wheel Drive/SUVs: tire knowledge, air pressures, pressure guage

Question
I want to know the proper way to inflate and check tire pressure with a non electronic tire gauge. I go to the gas station and put air in the tires or so I think and just wanted to know if there is a certain way to put the hose on or turn it or what. I am probably doing it right but, confirmation would help. same with the pressure guage.

This is pretty straight forward.  The main thing, is to make sure you are pressing the hose, or the gauge onto the valve stem straight, and with enough pressure so that the air isn't leaking out.

Other than that, make sure that you run the same air pressure in all the tires, and use the same gauge on each tire.  The main reason for using the same gauge, is that many gauges will read slightly different air pressures.
