Jeep: Overheats when Idle, coolant temperature sensor, jeep grand cherokee

Question
I have discovered that the radiator cooling fan is not kicking in.  Therefore, my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee is overheating when idle.  Would the problem like with the radiator fan or the relay switch?  Is there an easy way to determine which it might be?

Answer
You could have many problems.  It could be your fan, relay, engine coolant temperature sensor, and possibly a wiring or computer problem. The easiest thing to try would be replacing the relay, also check your antifreeze level. If the relay does not fix the problem you really need a scan tool to properly diagnose the problem.  Hope I could help you!
