Suzuki: stuck transfer case, suzuki samari, transfer case

Question
1987 suzuki samari - transfer case stuck in neutral and shifter will not move. Don't want to break it. Advice?

Answer
If you take the carpet and the metal section that covers the top of the trans and transfer case loose, you will find that you can depress and rotate the ring on the top of the t-case shifter, and lift the stick out.  Then it will be possible to re-insert the shifter correctly.
The bushing and pin that the ball on the shifter rides on can get worn and allow the shifter ball to move, and come disengaged from the shift rails.

Trail tough is a company I've bought lots of stuff from to modify my samurai, and I believe they will have a relatively inexpensive kit to fix your problem.  There's also a similar kit for the trans shifter.
