Suzuki: 1991 1600cc vaitra, cylinder head gasket, coolant hose

hay im just wanting to now how to tell if my head is blown. ive looked under oil cap and nothing there but there was a little under the dip stick but now i have cleaned it there is no more. im using a bit of water but not heaps, it blows a small amount of white smoke but as soon as its warm it stops.any advice woulds be much appreciated. thanks

The coolant usage could also be a minor radiator, water pump, coolant hose or heater core leak.
Get the cooling system pressure tested both hot and cold for leakage.  Only then would it be worth investigating the cylinder head/gasket as a potential leak.
Don't forget that a marginal radiator cap can also cause this.
