Questioncant move the hubs from free to lock on 97 sidekick sport - they were free 6 months ago can i simply leave them until returning home or am i heading for more serious trouble
Answeris it below freezing, and have the hubs been washed with a pressure washer in the past few months?
I had an issue a few years ago with water frozen in the hubs after my wife washed the car with a pressure wand at the local car wash.
Yeah, you can leave them free virtually indefinitely, and later take the hubs off and apart to see what's what.
If the temp goes above freezing, and you find moisture in them that's a pretty good probability.
I filled the hubs with about twice the grease the manual recommended, so there was virtually no space for water left.
The only negative thing was that sometimes in 0f temps, it would take a minute or two for the hubs to engage due to the volume of cold, thick grease.
Or don't pressure wash directly on the hub.
