Suzuki: 4x4 indicator, grand vitara, light flickers

Grand Vitara 2003. Why while driving on 4H/4L gear the 4x4 indicator lamp sometimes is switching off for a  few seconds? I'm not sure if I'm loosing a 4x4 drive while it's switching off. It lasts for a seconds so I'm just not sure. Is this a beginning of bigger troubles with front wheel drive?

Your question was not entirely clear as to whether it was in 2wd or 4wd initially.  I am not the guy you need to question, for I only know Samurai/Sidekick well.  Consider the possibility that the switch that illuminates the light or the wiring is all that's causing the light to flicker.  You need to find a way to determine as a matter of established fact whether or not it is staying in 4wd while the light flickers.
