Tips on Buying Cars: How to get around new truck sales taxes., commercial plates, better solution

I am buying a  2008 Silverado 2500HD diesel in NY State where i live and own
a home, however NY State is forcing me to get commercial plates because of
the weight of the truck, which is a big inconvenience due to limits on which
highways you can drive on.
So i was thinking of registering it in either Arizona or Florida where i do have
some property. Is this a doable thing? and what will it involve?

Hey Jack,
The problem you will have it has to be insured where it is garaged. If say you insure in Florid, it needs Florida plates, but it has to be in Florida well over 505 of the time. They could not honor a claim if something happened, and worse you could be charged fraud, it would be a federal situation because it is out of state. Sorry i could not give you a better solution
