Tips on Buying Cars: buying a car by e-mail, luck steve, carmax

Question
I found a car to buy over the web, its over 3 hours drive from my home. There are very few with these options,I would like to e-mail their net sales manager requesting them to give me a deal. I have no cell# at this time.  I will need some financing. My communication will only be by my E-mail. What would I say so I would get a good deal. I don't need to drive the vehicle ahead of time, they have a service waranty that goes with the buy. Of course before I sign anything I will test drive & look over the car.
Thanks

Answer
first, get the vehicle identification number (VIN #), THEN GO TO WWW.CARFAX.COM   FOR $15.00 you can gewt the carfax, which will tell you if the car has ever been in an accident...Next, go to www.carmax.com  (that's carmax, not carfax), look for similar model, whatever price they are selling it for at carmax, take off about $2000.00 and work from that number, when you look the car over, match the vin#'s, hold your ground and do not spend more then budgeting. Also, if you go to www.capitalone.com you can get pre-approved for a loan, if the dealer can beat it, great, if not you have your own financing...you will do just fine!! Please let me know how it goes, and if you have nay more questions..Good Luck!!!
