Tips on Buying Cars: buying a muscle/pony car, classic car trader, z28 camaro

Question
Hey, thanks for the advice.  I was looking more toward a muscle/pony car that hasn't been tricked out.  I would like it to be used and fairly cheap around 5,000 to 20,000.  I would like it to be in a condition as to where I could buy it and little by little replace the seats, repaint the car, ect.  Last thing, I would not really mind if it didn't have a motor as long as it was a reasonable price.

Answer
Well then at that point its really up to you, if you plan on doing a rebuild/restore the original model of the car becomes negatable, meaning... buy the one you think looks the best and performs how you want (or will when its done).. I know ford,GM, and mopar (dodge/chrysler/plymouth) all offer turn key or almost turn key crate engines, and they are reasonably priced.  I would say find one you like, make sure the frame is straight and without rust, and you should have a nice rebuild platform... the prices will vary alot depending on what model (ie. a 'cuda will be more than a camaro, but a z28 camaro could be more than the 'cuda... all about condition and rarity), so i can't really help you there... Find some one mechanically inclined... browse the classifieds... car sites, and classic car traders... (oodle.com, cars.com, autotrader.com., and I know there is a classic car trader but you will have to google that one for the address)... take the inclined person to check it out, and go for it... without an engine and in decent shape you shouldnt spend over 5000 as long as its nothing super rare.. and by the time your done... well you probably will have spent 20,000... Good luck with your project! any other questions just write back, thanks!
