Hello Ron Tittle,

We have an IRS tax lien filed. Even though we are on a payment
plan and are up to date they {the IRS} claim that the lien stays in
place until back tax is paid off.

How will this effect our purchasing a vehicle ?
Is it even possible ?

Thank you for your time !!  It is appreciated !!

Answer
You should have no problem getting an auto loan.  Call a few places, have them run your credit before you go to the dealership. After it is approved have them send you the approval letter that shows the terms and the rate.  If they will not do that then continue to shop. A dealership out there will work with you and dont worry about how many times they pull your credit. Your shopping and it's expected.  The main thing is get all of the paper work done before you shop for your auto. Take control and good luck!
