Tips on Buying Cars: rav4, valid choice, mechanical inspection

I live in jonesboro, ar and have been wanting a used rav4 for a long time.  The only ones that I have found around here were only a year or two old.  Recently I found a 1998 for sale that is $8000.  cd player, sun roof, all power, 92000 miles.  Would that be a good buy or not?  Do you think I would have problems with it since it is almost 8 years old?  Does it get good gas milage?  Would it be reliable? Is it a good price or could I get it lower? Any info would be helpful, thanks

$ 8000. is a fair chunk of money for something thats going on 8 years.the Rav4 is a valid choice and fair on gas...
