Tips on Buying Cars: lemon, two occassions, implied warranty

Question
Hi, I purchased a used honda accord from a used car dealership. After having the car for one week, I havent driven it more than once. I tried driving it on two occassions and it broke down both times, so I had to get it towed away. The first time they told me it was a minor problem so I brought the vehicle back to their dealership and they fixed it, supposedly. It then broke down again and almost caused my girlfriend and I to get in an accident as the battery started to die on the highway due to them not correctly replacing the alternator, which was the problem in the first place. I knew this was the problem because earlier that day, the car had broken down and I had to go buy a new battery. I want to give them the car back and get my money back. Am I entitled to the money for the vehicle + the battery cost + the cost of towing. Under Connecticut Lemon Laws, I was readin that I have an express warranty, but not an implied warranty. I purchased the vehicle about two weeks ago and only drove it once and I have also incurred insurance cost as well as registration cost. I called them and they told me I cant get my money back because it was sold as is. I also read on Ct lemons that the vehicle had to have as is on the windshield, which it wasnt. Do you have any advice?

Answer
Hi Trajah
Breakdowns can happen anytime and most dealerships will correct the problem if happens within a few days from purchase unless vehicle was bought AS IS...Your seller claims bought AS IS ? what is written on bill of sale ?
Even if you purchased vehicle with a warranty you will find most warranty's wont cover the parts you replaced, it really comes down to the dealerships goodwill considering you only had the car a few days...
you did not state year or price you paid to give me a full picture...
I like to be on the consumers side but with the problems you have incurred does not justify refund
