Dash and running lights do not work all the time

Hi Jim,
If your GM is similar to Chrysler, the lights for the dash and parking lights are activated by the same section of the headlamp switch. So the first place to try for a fix is that swtich. If you can remove it easily, do so, then get a spray can of electronic contact cleaner from an electronics supply store and use the straw tip applicator to shot some inside the switch to clean of oxidation from the contacts in side the switch.
