Tips on Buying Cars: Confused buying a car, chevy aveo, suzuki 4x4

Question
Hi Ray,

Thanks a lot for the immediate reply.

I will visit the website you have mentioned and follow your guidelines.

Meanwhile, I was browsing thru internet and found out that thers a Chevy "Aveo" which is available a little above $9000 for a brand new one.

Do you have any tips if I could maybe go for a brand new car with a little bucks more.

Regards,
Sushma

Hello Ray,

I have recetly moved to Farmington Hills, MI.
My work location is in Renaissance Ctr, Detroit, MI.Its a drive of around 65 miles to and fro everyday.

I am planning to buy a car, maybe used car.
As snow is going to be here very soon, have to think of a car which will not take me and itself to body shop every now and then.

My budget is minimum, aorund $8000-$9000

I sincerely need tips to buy a car which is going to be a good deal.

Thanks,
Sushma.

Hi sushma
On a budget doing over 100 miles a day, with expected bad snow conditions along the way...
An older Suzuki 4x4...or Tracker which is same vehicle but with a GM label...These vehicles are good on gas, and well made to last...as a second choice low end, Kia...but i much prefer Suzuki...
As for you getting a good deal, go to my old website, i say old as i am retired from that site, but its still up and running    www.usedvehiclefacts.ca   click on Test Drive...take to mechanic...accident ect...you will pick up some pointers which will help you get valid value for your bucks...
when you have located a vehicle you may consider, fill me in with details before buying, and we will go from there
Regards
 Ray

Answer
Hi again Sushma
New cars are not really my expertise...but i would consider any new car you could buy for under $ 10k if it fits the bill as it comes with a full warranty, and most likely some long term financing available to have low payments...But when you say just over $ 9k must be a manual with no options, , what about freight - taxes.ect added on ?, must put you in the $ 11k range...
Should you decide on Aveo, then at least find another dealer within range to shop and compare price...
