Tips on Buying Cars: New car options, scion xb, car options

I have ordered a new Scion xb and the question has been raised whether rustproofing should be ordered.  Do salespeople order rustproofing on their own cars?
I live in Wisconsin, but have rarely owned a car for more than 6 years.

Hi Mike and thanks for the question.  Years ago rustproofing was mandatory but with todays construction it is not necessary.  Now rustproofing is primarily a dealer profit center.  Tell the salesman good try but no sale.  Best of luck with your new car.  Bud
