Tips on Buying Cars: Finding something unique., auto trader magazine, wise shopper

Question
Hi,

I have around $10k to put twoards a new car.  I'm in college and havn't had a vehicle since high school.  I'd like to find something classic, from the 60's or 70's-- it seems like everything on the road now days are pretty much plastic looking carbon copies of something forigen looking.  That said, I'm not a car guy-- don't know what to look out for, and dont really have any idea about what my money will buy me.

Any advice?  What would you suggest?

Answer
Hi Phillip
First you did not say where you located...makes it just a little hard to figure what your money will buy...as for classics... buy an Auto Trader magazine for classics for your area...
To find what your money will buy go autotrader.com for USA or .ca for canada...click on some models you may consider...
What to look out for ?...good question...go to my website   www.usedvehiclefacts.ca   click on...before you shop...accidents...test drive...take to mechanic...etc...if you read it all you will be a wise shopper   good luck
 Regards
