Tips on Buying Cars: Timing of rebate programs, interest programs, subaru forester

We are interested in a 2004 Subaru Forester.  It has a $1000 rebate through March 31.  The will be another forthcoming but dealer didn't know [wouldn't tell] what the new one will be.  Is there a good time of year for rebates?

The dealer is not normally advised of future rebates since the purpose is to sell inventory in stock..If they get the results they wish with the first rebate they man not offer any more but with the competetiveness of todays auto business I would think they would continue.  A good way to keep informed of rebates, special interest programs etc. is to go to www.edmunds.com.  They are always current on programs.  In any case best of Luck.  Bud
