Tips on Buying Cars: When to purchase, looking for a new car, time of the month

Hello, So I am looking for a new car and want the best deal I can get. When do car dealerships start giving great discounts on new cars? My projected time frame for my car purchase will be in February 2013 and want to know if I can expect a good deal on a 2012 model. I am hoping that by the beginning of 2013 the 2012 models that are still on the lot will be discounted. Am I right in this assumption? If by then, will I be too late to grab a 2012 model and then will have to buy a 2013 model? Thank you for the help, sincerely Jared.

Jared:Good question!Most buyers expect to expect to buy normally at the end of each month.
However,my advice is to, with your research,and consider maybe two or three makes,the buying experience can happen any time of the month.

If you wait too long(especially at the end the year)your selection of 2012 cars will be somewhat limited.Unless you do not care on certain things i.e. equipment,packages,color,ect.
Also something also consider:every year cars average a 1/2 to 2% increase.And when those rebates for 2012 cars become more, the selection is less.

In short,I suggest to consider to buy a 2012 in September or November.But,if you catch a great deal before then DO IT!Don
