Tips on Buying Cars: Return a car 3 weeks old, used, car

Question
Hi Ray and Staff
My wife and I just purchased a new car 3 weeks ago and have about 750 mile on the car, althought the car had 240 on it, driven from  dealership in ND to MN, so there is a total mileage of 1040 miles.  The car is uncomfortable, we bought this car without researching, it was very hot that day and we were getting tired of kicking tires, there is a model at the dealship that has netter seats and actually many more whistles that we would enjoy. it was just before the 4th of July weekend, our salesman was going to be out of town the next week.  The car is very nice (Mazda 3) We are 50 years old and if I have to keep this car I will not be very happy, it is very basic.  I missread their brochure: it has a 7 day return policy and 30 day exchange, what I discovered was that the 30 day return was for used, the doc I read had the 30 day 1,000 mile return close to each other thus I thought it applied to new,

PLEASE HELP, is there anything I can do to give me a generous trade for the other car?

Answer
Hi John,
I like to help people and sometime wish I could wave a magic wand, I been taking my time to answer your Q trying to figure a way out of this investment, sorry to say for you to make a switch it will hurt the pocketbook big time.

Yes you made some major mistakes by not researching or understanding the return policy, we all learn from our mistakes and am sure you will not get bitten twice. If you have already contacted the selling dealer for a trade or intend to, you then may wonder why so much money difference, there are several reasons, one is vehicle will be registered as used to a new owner.

Summary,,, you keep the current car or be prepared to take a substantial loss.
