Tips on Buying Cars: Buying a high mileage 1999 F150 4X4 Flareside, ford f 150, mileage adjustment

Question
QUESTION: Hello Sir,
I have found a 1999 F-150 4X4 Flareside truck with 130k
miles at a dealership. The truck is very clean but has major
damage to interior driver seat! No noticeable dents and few
minor scratches. I can get this truck for $8000 but was
thinking more along the line of $7000. My main concern is if
this truck has had proper maintenance what can i except the
remaining life to be? Of course continuing the same service.
I do not know if it has all the recommended service
intervals performed by as Ford requires! What should be the
main items I focus on?

Many Thanks and Best Regards,
Mike

I dont know if this is the right truck data but I would think it's close. You should be able to buy a truck like this for $4000-5000 and that's if everything is in average shape with no problems. Go to this link and adjust the information, copy and paste.

For the money your talking about spending you could have a much nicer truck, If you want me to, send me your zip code, tell me what your wanting and Ill do a search for you and we can do some comparison shopping first.

QUESTION: Thank you so much! The truck was definitely not worth that
much money. I never knew about using Edmunds for vehicle
values, always used KBB or NADA. My budget is $8000 and
extremely tight and would rather spend around $6000 which
leaves me with $2000 to pay TTL and to fix minor stuff or
buy new tires.
Any help you can provide would be great! AutoTrader and Ebay
just are not cutting it!

Best Regards,
Mike Taylor

Answer
Sorry for the delay, Autotrader and all those sights can be good for searching, you have to make all your offers over the internet and get the best price before going to the dealer. You have to play them against each other. Also be willing to drive a little for a good deal. Remember the internet price is not the best price, they still have plenty of room.
