Tips on Buying Cars: New Car Price Nego, New 2008 model, 2008 saturn astra, new car price

It is August 2009, How do you negotiate the price on brand new car with the previous model year. Buying a new model that is a 2008, in 2009 with the 2010 model being introduced in a couple months.
2008 Saturn Astra. I was told a 2009 model was not manufactured. I realize Saturn does not negotiate price. But do have periodically incentive programs.
In general is there any room for negotiation on a new car that may have been sitting on the lot, or appears to be an older model?

I have never heard of a dealer not negotiating a price other than Car Max, The only problem I would see buying a 2008 Model is that they are already in the used car value books. A bank will loan money on them at a depreciated value because there is info on them of what they are selling for used at auction. Have you tried searching for a used 08? I think if you can find one used, you could probably figure out what to offer. Don't listen to any garbage about it has 0 miles and is still considered a new car, if a car hits the used car value books then basically it's a used car, if you were to have an accident your insurance would only pay you for a used car value,period. You need to do more research on this car, look up used car values and find out what they are selling for new on the Internet, do a little more shopping. If you need more let me know.
