Tips on Buying Cars: out of state car title, 1988 ford bronco, ford bronco

Question
Mr.Beck:  I just recently bought a 1988 Ford Bronco in the state of Arkansas, I live in Texas. It has the dealer tag on it but no inspection sticker, am I correct on the assumption that I have to have a Texas title on the vehicle before I can get it inspected here in Texas?? I am currently waiting on the Arkansas title of the vehicle. Also at what age of the vehicle can it be registered as antique?? A trip down to the dmv should answer these but I was just curious

Answer
Reid,

Thanks for your question.  You are not correct in that fact.  You can get the vehicle inspected before you get a title.  It sometimes takes 4 to 6 weeks to get a title in the state of Texas.  You can call your local DMV office to give you the exact procedure.

Hope this helps.
