Tips on Buying Cars: Foreign ownership of a US car, british drivers, smile on my face

Question
Dear Ray I am buying a home in Sarasota which I intend to use for up to six months per year without taking up USA residence, I am British & hold a British drivers licence.
Is there any way I can lease a car in my own name, or if I purchase my home through a US company could that company buy or lease a car which I could legally drive as owner or director of the company?  Your advice & help would be most appreciated  Graham.

Answer
Your question kind of put a smile on my face as I happened to be located within 50 minutes of Sarasota, where I have residence before returning to home base Canada for the summer months.

Lease is out of the question, as you will waste your money, buying will not be a problem when you provide a US home address. On my website navigate to this link  http://www.usedcartips.org/DMV.html   and click on FL , you will get from the DMV all the info you need to know.

When you have established an address in FL, buying a vehicle becomes a minor point, contact me through my website at that time.

As for you buying a home in FL, there has never been a better time, but tell me, you're british, where does the Portugel fit into this ?
