Tips on Buying Cars: New car purchase, hyuandi santa fe, new car purchase

Question
Looked at a Hyuandi Santa Fe & talked with salesman.  Returned 3 days later, made a deal that was acceptable at the time, but I stipulated to the salesman and finance manager before leaving the lot, why am I signing all of these papers because 3 times before I left the lot that I was taking it home to show and get my wife's approval -- if she liked it and wanted the car.  Overnight she decided that she did not like it and we could not afford the vehicle. Taking the vehicle back the next morning, Jason and one manager said the owner would have to approve us getting the trade back because I signed a "no cooling off" contract(we were never aware of any such contract).  I also told this manager that I did not have the paperwork that he showed me and I told them both and the finance manager that if my wife was not satisfied that I would bring the car back the next morning.  Jason said he will have to talk with the head manager to get my down payment and trade back, if possible.  What happened to the 3 day grace period since we just bought the vehicle on, 11/22/08, Saturday?  Can this be a problem for us in the State of Florida?  We've not purchased a car in Florida before and have never heard of a cooling off perion contract.  We have to talk to the Head Manager on Monday, ll/24/2008.  Robert A. Answer
I apologize for taking so long to reply, but I've been unable to log-in to this site for the past week, and this is the first time I've been able to access it.  The 3-day "grace period" for buying a car in Florida only applies if the salesperson suddenly shows up at your door and asks if you want to buy a car.  Since you went to their place of business on your own, the "no cooling off" contract is valid.  If this is still an issue, the fact that you didn't receive any copies of the paperwork you signed might be enough to void the deal, but you'd have to get an attorney involved to proceed.
