Tips on Buying Cars: german salvage importing, nissan skyline gtr, damage repairables

Question
can you give me any info on buying salvage, damage repairables in germany, any links via internet, left hand to right hand conversion costs, buying straight cars and the savings. been searching for this info for ages. thanks

Answer
Do you mean buying wrecked german built vehicles and importing them to the US and trying to make it legal to drive? and what do you mean by "straight cars"? - right hand to left hand conversion cost can range greatly depending on whether or not they built which ever one you are turning  it into... you said "left hand to right hand" but a european car is already right hand.... so i'll assume you meant the other way around... lets say you import a peugeot 206 (its french not german but the example works) and go to convert it... everything has to be custom fabricated because they dont make left hand drive 206's.. but if you import a 3 series Bimmer, the parts for the conversion could be barrowed from the US version... but if they do sell them in the US it defeats the purpose in going through the trouble of importing it doesn't it? what kind of cars are you looking to import? getting an imported car converted to be legally driven in the states is a VERY expensive feat, they may even charge a yearly fee just to keep it legal (if you import a nissan skyline GTR from japan and legalize it, the government still charges nearly 50,000 dollars a year for you to keep it legal)... it all depends on the car though... I looked for sites that import wrecked german cars and only found some that import ones that run... japanese salvage cars are really popular but their isn't really a market for the german salvage in the US... I will try looking some more, but for now I found nothing close to what you want.... get back to me on some of my questions and maybe i'll have found something by then, let me know, thanks!
