Tips on Buying Cars: What car switches from 6 to 4 cylinders?, dodge chrysler, 6 cylinders

I recall hearing somewhere that there is a car on the market that can switch
from 4 to 6 cylinders and vice versa.  If so, I cannot remember the maker of this
car.  Any comments or suggetions? (I think it would be a really great versitile
vehicle for someone who tows a trailer once in a while on the weekend, and
uses the car to commute to work on other days.)

I know Chevrolet and Dodge/Chrysler both have a MDS (multiple displacement system) - although it switches from 8 cyl, to 4 (or maybe it's 6...).. not 4 to 6.. there wouldn't be much to gain from having MDS on a 6 cyl.... You would probably be better off finding a higher powered 4cyl.. depends on how much you want to tow - and what kind of vehicle you want (car, truck, SUV)...
