On every vehicle sold in the US, there is a sticker - the vehicle tire placard - that lists the original tire size and the proper pressure for that size. The placard is usually located on the driver's doorframe, but sometimes is can be found in the glove box, on the fuel filler door, or in the trunk.
Also, the owners manual sometimes will have the size and pressure listed.
If the tire size being used is not listed on the vehicle tire placard, then the pressure must be recalculated. The calculation isn't difficult, but requires the use of tire load tables, which can be difficult to find. Fortunately, I have those tables and am willing to do the calculation if you'll supply me with 3 things: What the vehicle tire placard says for size and pressure and the new tire size.

The size alone doesn't tell you enough information about inflation pressure. What is also needed is how much the vehicle weighs on each corner, and what spring rate did the vehicle manufacturer decide to use to set up his suspension - and that information is boiled down for simplicity on the vehicle tire placard as the size of tire and the inflation pressure specification. That pressure specification applies to ALL tires of that size, and without that one can not tell you what the proper pressure is supposed to be as that size goes on many vehicles, and the pressure specifcation varies for each application.
HOWEVER, if you have the year, make, and model of your car, I have a summary published by a group called Tire Guides for every vehicle produced in the US.
