Tires: tire pressure, toyota 4runner, 4runner

Question
I drive a 1990 toy 4runner I replaced 31x10.5x15'' tires with Goodyear duratrac 235-85r16'' tires. What pressure should I run in these tires?

Answer
Tom,

According to Tire Guides, a 1990 Toyota 4Runner originally came with P225/75R15's inflated to 26 psi front / 29 psi rear.  In order to carry that same load, an LT235/85R16 needs to use...... ah ...... Mmmmmm .......

Well, LT tires shouldn't be inflated to less than 35 psi and at 35 psi, an LT235/85R16 has more load carrying capacity than needed.  So your answer is 35 psi.
