Tires: Rim Leak, tubeless tires, tire dealer

Question
I have a tire that is leaking around the rim. Rather than replace the rim, can I just get a tube put in it?

Answer
Tim,

As a general rule, tubes don't fit in tubeless tires well - so the basic answer is: No.

I would suggest that you take the tire to a tire dealer and have him work on it.  There are sealants that can be applied that will help seal the tire to the rim.  If those don't work, then there is likely a bigger problem and that means the rim should be replaced.
