Tires: rim compatability for suzuki sx 4, tire pressure monitoring system, suzuki sx4

Question
I would like to put 16" rims on a 2010 Suzuki SX4, what other makes of vehicle use the same bolt hole circle and hub opening that would fit on this car?

Answer
Dear Kevin,
Thank you for using AllExperts!
In order to insure a proper wheel swap on your 2010 Suzuki, we would need more information, for example:
1.  What 16" tire size did you plan for, and what rim width (vs. the current) does that tire require?  Every tire size has a range of "approved" rim widths that it should be mounted on such as 6", 6.5", etc.
2.  The wheel "offset" would have to be proper, and the offset might be determined by your selection of rim width. Offset is a measurement from the wheel's mounting surface to the centerline between the rim flanges.
I would recommend that the 16" tire/wheel combination be within 3% of the overall diameter of your original tires and of at least the same load capacity.
I am also not aware if your Suzuki was equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (in Canada, perhaps not)...but if so, the wheel MAY have to be of a certain design to accept the special valve this system.
Since I don't have access to data/catalogs for Suzuki original wheels in order to make a recommendation, I can only suggest that you either seek out a local tire/wheel professional that can show you multiple options, or contact The Tire Rack, or 1010tires.
