Land Rover Repair: Disco 2 Whining, serpentine belt, alternator

Question
I have an 02 disco that is starting to wine or whine..  it always
had made that LR noise, but now its getting bad, louder when i
give it gas, any ideas on that?  do i need an alternator?

Hi Rick,

could be pulley bearing related.  Does not have to be the alternator though.  One way to tell is to remove the serpentine belt and carefully spin each pulley to hear any abnormal noise.

All should spin smoothly...

Start with this and let me know what happens,
