Tires: Tire vibration, goodyear assurance tires, bridgestone tires

Question
I recently purchased four new Goodyear Assurance tires and am experiencing  low vibration in the steering between 65 and 75 MPH. I drive the same highway to work 5 days a week an had no vibration with the previous Bridgestone tires(came with car)and 45,00 miles on them. The difference was noticed as soon as I drove home with the new tires. I had the wheels re-balanced and an alignment showed front right very slightly out. No uneven wear on previous tires. Is this just from the tread design?

Answer
Bruce,

There is another tire property related to balance called "Uniformity".  If you think "out of round" you'll not be far off the mark.

Take the tires back to where you purchased them and register a complaint.  In particular, ask if they have a Hunter GSP9700.  That type of balance machine also measures uniformity (in a fashion).  If they do not have one of those, then they will have a more difficult job diagnosing the "out of round" condition and may have to replace the tires.
