Tires: V Rating for tires, tire placard, ken ken

Question
I've realize that a V rating for my tires makes it more expensive and a safer better handling tire but I've seen a V 98 rated tire for 200$ plus, and a V 93 rated for 98$.  What is the difference between these tires?  Please explain a little bit about the V rating to me.

Thank you,
Ken

Answer
Ken,

The difference is the load carrying capacity - which is probably even more important than speed rating.

I cover both those topics here;

You need to get at least the same load carrying capacity as listed on the vehicle tire placard.
