Hi I have a Ford f150 Supercrew 4X4. I recently damaged my left front tire. I took to a local tire shop and they state I need two new front tires. The old tires now have 8/32s tread while the new 13/32s. Is this necessary and what is Ford's position on? Thanks.

I am surprised that the tire shop said you only need 2 tires, as it has been stated by the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) that on 4X4's it is best to replace all 4 tires to avoid drivetrain damage.

Ford's position?  It will be stated in your owners manual and be specific to your particular vehicle.  Ford has not published a generalized stated position that is accessible though the internet - and they should have.
