QuestionQUESTION: My go kart has a robin ex 27 10 hp motor on it, It will idle fine, probably would idle for ever if i wanted. but once i hit the accelerator it just dies, like a kill switch. After about 10 tries and holding the gas down when taking choke off i can get it going. Does it have to do with the high or medium speed jets on the carb. or what?
ANSWER: About how old is it and did it set up for awhile with gas in the tank?

QUESTION: its an 06, the guy before didnt take care of it at all. the gas is brand new, im draining the gas right now through the little bolt near the filter/carb set up. it seems to be a little yellow, maybe thats normal.. and also smells a little off.. but then again, i wouldnt know.
AnswerI would start with a full service including new filters, plug, rebuilding the carburetor and replacing the fuel lines. I think that will fix your problem. You're describing an engine starving for gas. More than likely you have some dirt or varnish in the carb restricting the flow. Soak the carb in a can of carb cleaner for an hour or so and reassemble with a new kit and do the other stuff and see if that doesn't get you going. Let me know if you have any questions.
