Tires: tire size, dodge ram sst, tire failure

i have a 98 dodge ram sst i have 275/60r17 on it and want to put a skinnier tire on it but dont know what size will fit on that rim [stock] can you help thank you jon

Jon,

You already have the skinniest tire on the vehicle that will handle the load.  Any change will either result in a wider tire, or a tire with less load carrying capacity and that increases the risk of a load related tire failure which sometimes has tragic results.
