Tires: tire sidewall description codes, tire sidewall, commonality

Question
I am confused about the letters representing tire sidewalls, such as wsw, owl, orwl, and bw.  What exactly do each of these mean? Thanks.

Answer
Steve,

These are abbreviations that describe what type of sidewall treatment the tire has:

BSW = Black Sidewall
WSW = White Sidewall
RWL = Raised White Letters
OWL = Outline White Letters

etc.

There are lots of different abbreviations used and while there isn't any specific pattern, there is some commonality.
