Tires: Switching from studded winters to all-season tires., studded winter tires, wheel bearings

Question
The vehicle is a 95 Buick Lesabre. I took off good-quality existing all-seasons when I moved here from BC, installing studded winter tires for the winter duration. Upon going back to the previous tires, I note a noise very similar to the road noise when driving on studded tires. Could this be a case of out-of-balance on re-installation or possibly wheel-bearing issues? If so, what is the likely cost to replace wheel-bearings in this type of vehicle (in NS).
Thank you, Barry.

Answer
Tony,

My best guess is that the tires have some irregular wear that is generating the noise.  So an alignment is probably your best starting point.  That won't fix the noise, but will prevent it from returning in the future.

The next step would be to either live with the noise until a new wear pattern developes - OR - rotate the tires - OR - buy new tires.
