Tires: OEM Tires, oem tires, acura dealer

What are OEM tires? I got a special offer from my Acura dealer to purchase a set (4) of OEM tires, if I pay for the balancing,and alignment, and each of my 4 OEM tires will be charged to me at $1.00 over cost. Is this a good deal? I do need new tires soon and the offer is only good thru 4/30/09.

OEM tires are the tires delivered to the vehicle manufacturer's assembly plants.  They are built to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications, which sometimes have shortcomings in areas such as wear or traction.

But if you are satisfied with your original tire, this would be a good deal.
