Tires: tire size, tire placard, chevy silverado

what size tire come with the 1999 chevy silverado 1500 .. I have 285 75 r16's on it right now and need to replace them and just wanted to make sure they are the correct size

On every vehicle sold in the US, there is a sticker – commonly called the tire placard - that lists the original tire size and the proper pressure for that size.  The placard is usually located on a doorpost or in the glove box – but sometimes it is located in the trunk or on the fuel filler door.

In the case of pickup trucks, there are quite a few different models, and quite a few different tire size, so the placard is the only correct source.
