Tires: tire pressure, tire placard, scion xa

Question
what is the factory settings for scion xa  tire pressure  195*60*15  front and rear
thank you matt

Answer
Macie / Matt,

On every vehicle sold in the US, there is a sticker – commonly called the tire placard - that lists the original tire size and the proper pressure for that size.  The placard is usually located on a doorpost or in the glove box – but sometimes it is located in the trunk or on the fuel filler door.

These settings would only apply to the original tire size.  If you are using a different size, then the pressure has to be recalculated.

Tire Guides says a Scion Xa came with P185/60R15's inflated to 29 psi front and rear.  If this information does not match the placard, then the rest of this posting is incorrect.

But if true, then to get the equivalent load carrying capacity a 195/60R15 would need to be inflated to 26 psi front and rear.
