Tires: 2007 Nissan Quest Tire Pull, goodyear eagle, nissan quest

Question
Hello,
I have  2007 Nissan Quest that has 4 Goodyear Eagle LS tires. they came on the Van when we bought it new, I have rotated them on schedule. I took the van in for the oil change and tire rotation it was scheduled for, when I got it back there was a pull to the right and when i told my husband about it he said it was probably the alignment (we drive this van allot...back roads and some dirt roads, they are not always the nicest roads to drive on) so we setup an appt. to have the alignment done. By the time the alignment was done the pull was really noticeable. when I picked the van up after the alignment was done the pull was still there. So we took it back and they drove it and switched the tires around and when they did that it started to pull to the left, and we where told was tire pull and we needed to replace the tire. what causes tire pull is it a defective tire or a road hazard. the tires are a little over a year old. One time they rotated the tires back-to-back, I usually have to rotate the tires every other oil change. the oil is changed every 3750 miles and the tires rotated every 7500 miles, did that have anything to do with it?
Thanks for your help,
Sally

Answer
First, you did the right thing having the alignment checked.  The alignment should be checked every 30,000 miles.

Since the "pull" followed the tire the defect is indeed in the tire.  This can be caused by several factors all of which are in the construction of the tire.  Unlikely a road hazard.  The tire does need to be replaced but, the best answer is to replace two tires.  Your best bet is to call the "800" number for Goodyear and see what they are willing to do.
