Tires: four new tires, slow leaks, nissan maxima

Question
I purchased four new tires in  May for my 2002 Nissan maxima from Pep boys. Since than I have had it back six times because of slow leaks. Each time they have worked on several of the tires. They claim to have resealed them and it is caused by rim corrosion. Which I had no problem with prior. My feeling is that the tires are just not a good fit even though I was told what tires to purchase for my vehicle. The tires are futura touring Vrp225/50vr17. At this point I'am asking them to replace the tires with another brand even if I have to pay a cost difference. They are not willing to do this. Do you have any suggestions or recourse? Thank You

Answer
Stacy,

Have them show you where the leaks are.  I am sure they will show you they are between the rim and the tires.

The problem here is that the rims can corrode while tires are on the rim and when the old tires are removed, they take some of the rim material with them leaving behind pits that the tire is having trouble sealing.  Changing tire brands is not going to fix this - which is why the store is reluctant to do this for you.
