Tires: Tire noise, buick rondevous, inflation pressure

Question
I just had the front end aligned and tires rotated. The front tires had a fair amount of wear mostly on the outside edges. Long story short, there is a roaring sound that gets louder the faster I drive. I can't tell if the roaring is coming from the front or the rear, but I know it was not making the sound before the alignment. They did say it was to"ing" pretty bad on one side.  I am leaving on a 2000mile plus trip and I am concerned. The car is a 2006 Buick Rondevous and it has 23000 miles, yes first rotation and alignment, hard lesson learned

Answer
Sue,

What you have is irregular wear.  Irregular wear is caused by misalignment and aggravated by insufficient inflation pressure and insufficient rotation practices.

So fixing the alignment is going to prevent the tire from dbveloping the previous wear pattern, but you haven't fixed the result - the tires.  2 possibilities:

1)  Wait until the tires wear a different wear pattern i8nto the tires and the noise will gradually go away.

2)  Replace the tires.
