Tires: New Tires for 4Runner, cooper discoverer, bridgestones

Question
The tread is almost gone on my Stampede AT's that I've had to put up with for 30,000 miles. What's a good tire for the 4Runner 4WD sport? The OEM Bridgestones were short-lived, too. Tire size is 265/65-17. Too many choices out there with no clear-cut winners, and I'm not a good judge of tires obviously! Driving is mainly city/hwy - don't get much snow & ice here in Texas. Thanks!

Answer
Juliet,

I must remind you that your tires must be rotated every 3,500-5,000 miles regardless of brand.  When you get new tires have your alignment checked and adjusted if necessary.

My first choice would be a Toyo Open Country in either H/T or A/T all Toyo tires come with a ride guarantee for the first 500 miles or 45 days.  Second would be a Cooper Discoverer HT.  Cooper's customer service is second to none.
