Tires: Mazda 6 Tires, pirelli pzero nero, kumho ecsta asx

Question
I am looking at replacing all four tires on my 2006 Mazda 6 Sport GT.  Right now I have Pirelli PZero Nero M&S PINNA 215/45ZR18 93W XL (the original tires on the car).  I find that they are a bit noisy and the tread did not wear well and I have had many problems with holes and flat tires. I was looking at replacing them with the Kumho Ecsta ASX 215/45ZR18 93W XL and was wondering if these would be comarable. When researching these tires on the internet a warning came up that these tires are a "higher load rating than the vehicle's Original Equipment (O.E.) tires" but they are the same load rating as the Pirelli's.  Is this the reason I may be noticing so much noise? or does the load rating not affect the ride of the car that much?  Also it was suggested that I change them to 225/40ZR18 I was thinking of the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position 88W.  How would this affect the noise and handling of my car? And which would be the best choice for me to choose?

Answer
Michelle,

The Kumho ASX is one of Kumho's newer products.  Kumho has been building high quality, high performance for a long time.  Of the ones that I have sold I have not had any complaints about noise.  As for mileage in ANY ZR rated tire, NOT GONNA HAPPEN, however you can get maximum mileage by assuring that air pressure's are maintained and the tires are rotated EVERY 3500 miles.  The Bridgestone Potenza is also a quality product.

As for the warning that you received have you checked the vehicles tire placard located inside the driver's door?  Check the tire placard to assure what the OE size is and it's load index.

I will be able to answer your questions in more detail.
