Tires: tire cupping/ feathering, tire cupping, dodge caliber

Question
my 07 dodge caliber, dunlop sp50's has developed "cupping, feathering" on all 4 tires it has 14K mi and thru 2 rotations,
i noticed noise immediately after 2nd rotation,
dealer has double ck'd align and inflation saying all is well ... and yet i have noise and tread wear, someone suggested rebalancing... i would hope the dealer tech would know this.
any ideas ??

to clarify the wear is on the leading /trailing edge of tread block so that one edge is higher /deeper than the other. and only appears near the sidewalls center seems fine.

Answer
Greg,

This type of wear is caused by misalignment and aggravated by low inflation pressure.  (assuming you don't drive the vehicle hard!)

It's possible the dealer fixed the alignment - which would be the cause of the problem - but didn't change the tires - which is the symptom - in hopes that a new wear pattern would develop - which it might.

So give it acouple of months and see if the problem improves.  If not the only solution is to replace the tires.
