Tires: tire sizes, 17 inch rims, dodge ram 1500

Question
I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 SLT 5.7 L Hemi 4x4.  Right now everything is stock but i will be puting a leveling kit on my truck raising the front end up two inchs.  I would like to know what is the biggest tire that can fit on my truck without rubbing when turning.  I was looking at the maxxis bighorns and i have 17 inch rims.  I was thinking of the sizes 285/70/R17, 275/70/R17, and 265/70/R17.  If you could tell me which one would fit the best that would be great?

Answer
Dave,

I wouldn't see any troubles with the use of either of these sizes.  Keep in mind though that your are going to an aggressive tread design with raised lugs.  I would have one tire mounted and installed on the front axle in order to assure clearances.  Before doing this assure that your dealer will let you return the tires if necessary.

Good Luck,

Brett
