Tires: Tires for 99 mercury cougar, rims tires, mercury cougar

My son wants to bid on rims/tires for his car.  The rims are 4x108.  The tires are falken 205/40zR17 84w.  Will these fit this car?  He is trying to fix his car up to be cool, but he is only 16 and thinks he knows it all.  Do you think these will fit this car?

The bolt pattern is correct (4 x 108mm).  Your concern is going to be the offset and backspacing.  Do you know what type vehicle these rims came off of ?  If so reply back to me with this and I can answer your question with more certainty.

The reccomended tire size for a 17" rim on this car is P225/45R17. A P205/40R17 is going to be small of a tire for this vehicle.
