Tires: tire fitting question, P metric tires

I have an 03 astro cargo AWD van.  the tires are a P215/60R 16.  I destroy tires.  I notice that some of the full size chevy vans that are used for cargo have model of tire that commerical.  They just don't make tires in my size commerical.  on my neighbors 1 ton he put 19.5 tires but he bought special rims.  what are my options other then P rated tires.

For you, there are no other options.

The other vehicles you mentioned use LT metric tires due to load carrying capacity - AND - they can not use P metric tires because of that.

Put a different way, the type of service determines which type of tire is appropriate for your vehicle - and load carrying capacity is a governing parameter.
